tylenol. NOTHING with aspirin in it

Answer 3:

Well I don't want to give you a wrong answer, but I am an asmatic and I take Ibuprofen

Answer 4:

ibprofen!!
and for me, i have to take at least 600 mg so that the swelling of my lungs goes down to the point where i can actually breathe comfortably...
i'm sure the actual dosage varies for each person...
butt def take ibprofen

Answer 5:

Most can take pretty well anything. Some are sensitive to aspirin, and those people normally can't take NSAID's like ibuprofen or naproxen, either. Also, morphine causes release of histamine from mast cells and can occasionally cause some difficulties. None of these is a consistent problem, or predictable across the spectrum of all asthmatics.

Answer 6:

The safest painkiller for an asthmatic would be paracetamol(acetaminophen).Other drug would be dextropropoxyphene. Please avoid NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, Analgin ,Aspirin. These can trigger asthma attacks in a prone person.

Answer 7:

Someone with asthma whould never take aspirin or ibuprofen without first discussing it with their doctor. If you have asthma and nasal polyps and take aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen, etc it can be fatal. The only pain medication that is indicated for asthmatics is acetaminophen (Tylenol)

My son is an asmatic. well since 6months old he has been on alberteral, this past week his doctor admitted him?

to the hospital, his heart rate was 160 and he is 2yrs old, with a little difficutly breathing, they stopped teh albertal and put him on xopenez. is anyone on this med. asthma for a child is so stressful. any tips.. no we don't know what is causing it.

Answer 1:

Xopenex is very similar to albuterol, but doesn't have one of the side effects that albuterol has: increased heart rate.

Unfortunately, this is the time of yr (Oct thru April) that is difficult for asthmatics, especially kids becasue they can catch RSV from other kids.

When your son is discharged from the hospital, follow his medication schedule carefully. Many kids act fine when sick, so parents slack off on their breathing meds, and they backslide and get sick again. Take good care of your little guy!
