What are some natural ways to help with acne?

What are some natural ways to help with acne? By natural I don't mean natural medicine I mean just things that help your body fight them.

Thanks a lot.

Answer 1:

You are right to look for ways to help your body tackle the condition. Most treatments, including all the commercially produced ones, just treat the symptoms and don't get to the underlying causes. i once heard it explained in a metaphor - If you live near a pond of stagnant water and suffer from the mosquitoes you could treat the problem with insecticides and kill the mosquitoes. but if you leave the stagnant pond the mosquitoes will soon come back. Same with acne if you just treat the symptoms they may go for a while, but they will soon be back.

Spots are caused by blocked pores, over production of sebum (natural oils that your body produces to keep your skin supple) and bacteria.

The sebum production is usually triggered by hormonal imbalance, caused by life stage changes, diet and stress.

Drink lots of water. Avoid processed foods - they are stuffed with sugars, fats and additives that can really unbalance your body. Excess sugar causes your body to produce insulin to regulate the sugar, it also stimulates production of testosterone (in men and women). Both these chemicals encourage the body to produce more sebum. The problem with the modern diet is that we continually get rushes of sugar and then crave more. this make the levels swing up and down rapidly.

The next thing to do is to eat fresh fruit and veg to increase the levels of vitamins, particularly vitamin C. Vitamin C is great for sweeping up toxins and flushing them out of your body.

Lastly try to keep to a good cleansing routine. There are plenty of natural ways to cleanse your skin, draw out toxins and dirt and kill bacteria. Honey and lemon work really well. The lemon is acidic so it kills bacteria and helps clear excess grease from your skin. The honey promotes healing and reduces redness, its best to get some natural honey as the commercial blends usually come from bees fed on sugar water and don't have such good properties.

I've put some recipes for natural cleansers and face packs on my website. there is also lots more advice about natural treatment for acne.

Good luck I hope you find a way to treat your acne that is right for you.

Answer 2:

Do not use makeup, or things that would clog your pores.

No not touch your face, hands are oily, and when your hands are dirty, its much worse.

Answer 3:

Rip them off with tweezers
It works trust me:)

Answer 4:

drinking lots of water helps...laying off sodas.

Answer 5:

drink a lot of orange juice or anything orange (just not candy! haha) oranges are stuffed with vitamin c and your acne will clear up in like a week! trust me, every day for a week i ate 2 clementines and my face was spotless

Answer 6:

Dont eat fast food, or any other foods that are fried. also i have found that keeping your havds from touching your face helps keep the bacteria from migrating to other pores and infecting them.

Answer 7:

You'll find this video very helpful

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtl-1Kn8G…

It's a YouTube video by a "beauty guru" (someone who makes videos on makeup, hair, fashion etc). I know that sounds really girly but this particular video is aimed at both guys and girls and she gives you LOTS of ways to rid yourself of acne! (Lots of natural ways too) :)

Answer 8:

STOP using drugstore acne creams, gels, washes, exfoliators etc... Those only irritate and dry your skin actually making it worse. I use to have some acne problems a couple years ago and I used Clearisil, Neutrogena, and a whole lot of other products that supposedly fight acne including Proactive. Now I rarely have a pimple and my face is really clear. I sotpped using all that stuff and just washed my face daily with a mild soap and only used baby lotion on my face. The problem was the "acne fighting creams" irritating my face. Olay facial lotions are good also and don't put body lotion on your face b/c it will most likely clog your pores.

Answer 9:

Well, I don't know anything that will help the body fight them. But if you cut a potato and rub it all over your face, that will help by cleaning your face. You're going to see blackheads and dirt on the potato, but that's normal. Keep cutting the potato and rubbing it on your face, until the potato is clean.
Do's and Dont's
Do drink a lot of water. It keeps your face hydrated and it also helps you lose weight at the same time
Don't eat a lot of peanuts. The oil in it is bad for your skin.
Don't have hair on your face. The oil in the hair will go to your skin and that's bad.
Don't touch your face so much. Or actually, don't touch your face at all.
When you wear makeup, try to get waterbased makeup. Some makeups have ingredients in them that cause acne to come.
Don't squeeze a pimple. That'll just irritate your skin and leave a skin mark on your face, which is really hard to get rid of.
Chocolate isn't bad for your face. It was proven to not be bad for you. (well it will make you fatter)
The only way you'll get acne from chocolate is if it has peanuts or if you rub it on your face.:)
There's this cleanser call Proactive. It really does work. And try a scrub. I use St. Ives scrub. But only put it on 3 times a week.
Eating water fruits (watermelon, melon, pineapple, mango, kiwi, papaya, plum, etc.) is really good for you skin too.
Eating a lot green vegetables is also a proven fact to help your skin.
Well, that's about it.

Glad I could help.

Answer 10:

Don't wear makeup.

Wash your face when you wake up and before you go to bed.
If you have a pimple, put toothpaste on it. (it'll dry it out)
Drink a lot of water. (Max . eight glasses of water a day. )
Keep your hands off your face!
Work out. Sweat somehow helps get ride of acne and makes you look great :)
Also Stress causes acne, so if theres any stress in your life, deal with it, to make your self more relax

Hope this helps :)

Answer 11:

Acne occurs because dead skin cells and dirt clog your pores. Use a natural face scrub to remove dead skin cells and dirt. Also there is a natural mask that helps a lot with acne. Use a teaspoon of yeast, half a teaspoon of milk and two drops of lemon. You can make more if it's not enough but the ingredients have to be proportional. As said, eating healthy can help a lot. Where i live, in the pharmacies there are over the counter pills that have yeast in them to help clear acne, too. I find yeast to work very well though.

Answer 12:

Invest in a good moisturizer and use it morning and night on a clean face. A lot of the times when people suffer from acne, it's because their skin is dehydrated. When our skin becomes dehydrated our body tries to moisturize itself with our natural oils (sebum). Sebum is what clogs our pores and creates blemishes. By properly moisturizing on a regular basis, our bodies will no longer pump out that excess sebum, and your skin stays clear and healthy.

Answer 13:

Use Hydrogen Peroxide. As a toner. Seriously. It works. I'm going crazy without it. And I use anti bacterial soaps for a cleanser.

Answer 14:

not natural but there's this bar from neutrogena
not sure what its called but it has a gold color and it worked really well for me
gently rub it on the areas where acne is present and rinse, it takes away all the oils on your skin.

What natural methods have you used to ease the discomfort of morning sickness?

Please list any natural methods ( foods and other items that do not effect the baby and are natural not drug form) that have helped you get through the morning sickness. I have tried watermelon which someone informed me had helped them alot and it works sometimes. I would like to hear other peoples ideas or thoughts on this.

Answer 1:

It helped me to always have food in my stomach, even if it was only cheerios or crackers. I also drank caffeine free coke (but NOT diet coke), because apparently the syrup in coke can settle the stomach? Good luck to you!

Answer 2:

I sucked on hard peppermint candies. Those actually helped more than I thought they would. My best friend swore on hard ginger candies but I didn't like the taste.

Answer 3:

I tried crackers before getting out of bed, ginger ale or ginger flavored things and preggie pops. None of those worked for me. I found that the red and white round mint candies (the kind you get from restaurants after your meal and such) worked the best. It gave me a fresh taste in my mouth and the sugar/mint combo seemed to settle my tummy. I later noticed that really any hard candy helped- lifesavors, candy canes (i'm at 15 weeks now so christmas was in the yucky time for me) and lemon drops.

Not everything works for everyone, just try EVERYTHING til you find what works best for you. Good luck and I hope it doesn't last long for you.

Answer 4:

Anything with ginger. Oranges or grapefruit. Crackers. Don't lay down when you feel sick it'll be a lot worse when you get back up. I had horrible morning sickness and that helped me a little mostly you just got to ride it out.

Answer 5:

i waited until after lunch time to eat, if i ate anytime before that i was extremely sick. i know its not good to hold off on eating, but it worked for me.

Answer 6:

keep ice water on your night stand with crackers nibble a few before you get up and drink lots of fluids

Answer 7:

Take a teaspoon each of fresh mint juice, lemon juice, and a tablespoon of honey thrice daily. Half a teaspoon of cumin seed powder mixed with a teaspoon of honey before food helps to fight nausea. More instant remedies and info at http://usefulinfomorningsickness.blogspo…

Answer 8:

Hi!
I ate alot of turkey and chicken. I think the protein helped me feel alot better. Crackers, etc, did not work for me. I couldn't even drink tea because the acid in tea bothered my stomach. I know you asked not drug form but I did take liquid mylanta which is not harmful. that worked well (I never take anything in liquid form EEWWW!!!)

Answer 9:

Peppermints and coca cola. Not that it totally made it go away--just settled me enough to be able to eat SOMETHING.

Why is the term natural selection is not interchangeable with the term evolution?

A. Natural selection does not always lead to evolution B. A population may evolve in ways other than through natural selection C. Natural selection is just a theory, while evolution has been proven D. The two are exactly the same and may be used interchangeably E. Darwin coined the term natural selection, but not evolution.

Answer 1:

Of the choices, I would think that A.) or B.) is your best answer possibilities.

A. Natural selection does not always lead to evolution:

This is true. While nature may set the conditions for evolution to occur, there is an element of random chance involved as well. For example, a random point mutation may occur in an organism's genome that leads to phenotypic change, which is independent of environmental conditions.

B. A population may evolve in ways other than through natural selection.

Which is basically the same as question A, but less correct.

C. is wrong.

D. The two are exactly the same and may be used interchangeably.

Natural selection is blind to evolution as evolution is blind to natural selection. It is only by chance alone that the two parameters actually interact in a way that results in change to the organism. Natural selection cannot be used to mean evolution, as evolution alone cannot be used to mean natural selection.

E. I'm pretty sure this is wrong as well.

I think that your best answer is A.) Natural selection does not always lead to evolution.
