What is the usual antibiotic and dosage used in treating acne?

What is the usual antibiotic and dosage used in treating acne? I have a little bit of acne on my chin (no where else) that won't seem to clear up no matter what I do. I need to try an antibiotic and see if that takes care of an ongoing infection. What is the typical antibiotic used to treat acne? And what dosage for adults?

Answer 1:

Why not try and clear the acne with natural remedies, there are probably ingredients in your kitchen cupboard which you can try before going down the anibiotic route.
There is a free website below which has loads on information on the cause of acne and ways of treating it.
Take a look and see what you think.

Answer 3:

Benzoyl Peroxide is the most common medicine used to treat acne. It comes in cream form - usually either as 2.5% or 10%. B.P. works by killing the bacteria that forms in zits and it is VERY effective if used regularly. If you're having problems with acne, get something at the store that has benzoyl peroxide as an active ingredient (you will find dozens of choices available at any drugstore) and use it religiously on your skin EVERY night. If you do that I guarantee you will get good results.

What do doctors do when treating an infected glass cut?

When you have glass stuck in your foot and it's infected, what do doctors do when treating the cut. Do they cut the injury open and take out the glass? Do they scan you? What?

Answer 1:

Infected how? Is it pussing out? Does it have a bubble that needs to be popped? More details.

Answer 2:

remove glass, give tetanus booster if patient hasn't had one in the past 10 yrs., clean wound,
prescribe antibiotic. most likely infection is staph since staph aureus and staph epidermidis
are bacteria commonly found on the skin. no reason for a scan or x-ray unless a broken bone
is suspected.

How soon can I start treating a burn to prevent scarring?

I got a second degree burn on the area right under my eyebrow/above my eyelid that's a fairly decent size three days ago. I've kept it covered with guaze and have been treating it with neosporin making sure to keep it moist.

How soon can I start using scar creams and vitamin E oil on it? Also any suggestions on what to use? I openly admit I'm vain about this and am very concerned about scarring..

thanks

Answer 1:

if it is a bubbly type of scar then i would pop it with a safety pin first. thats always best!! if not then (if it has a scab then wait until its gone) u can start treating it for scars after all that is taken care of. i would personally use the ScareZone cream. it works really good! ive used it on a couple of spots where i have had to have stitches and just scrates on my face and burns and i have no scars..NOTHING!! hope this helps..Chow!!

What works better when treating parasite infected goldfish?

Hi,

I think my Black Moor has a parasite and swim bladder problem. I recently put him in a 10 gallon tank for treatment. What works better- treating him using anti-parasite fish food or using a specific type of medication?

Answer 1:

If the fish is still eating, and it's an internal parasite, I'd opt on the side of the medicated food-- this will more effectively deliver the medication to the infection. If it's an external parasite, medicated food will have very little affect, and a malachite green + formalin based medication like Quick Cure or Rid Ick would work much better. Also, water conditioners are NOT medications, and there are no "water conditioners" marketed for treating Ich-- those are called medications.

Answer 2:

a water conditioner, that is marketed for ick.

Answer 3:

What kind of parasite and what does it look like? External parasites like ich or flukes should be treated with liquid meds poured directly into the tank. Remember if you noticed the parasites while he was in the larger tank, you may want to treat that tank as well and avoid the risk of both tanks being contaminated. There are tell tail signs of internal parasites and then I would use medicated food.

As for the swim bladder, peas or lettuce will do the trick.
